Treatments for TMJ & Headaches

Jaw pain is a common complaint we receive from our patients, so you are not alone. It can be difficult to determine the source of the pain, without a dentist's support. Patients can present with an array of symptoms, including:

  • Pain or tenderness in your jaw or the temporomandibular joints
  • Pain in and around your ear
  • Difficulty chewing or swallowing
  • Aching facial pain
  • Difficulty opening or closing your mouth
  • Reoccurring headaches

Dolman Dental in Lacombe can help patients throughout Central Alberta address the pain from these conditions.

To properly treat your TMJ, we take the time to record a complete history and perform thorough examinations. But, first, we develop a trusting working relationship which often extends to physiotherapists, massage therapists, or other health care professionals.

Splint Therapy

We currently work with our dental laboratory to make four different designs of Night Guards/Bruxism Splints in various materials. Your dentist will recommend a particular design based on your individual needs, including taking your comfort into consideration whenever possible.

Botox™

Therapeutic Botox™ has been an enormous asset in our ability to treat myofascial pain. Dr. McLeod has extensive training in both therapeutic and esthetic botox. So whether you are having trouble sleeping because of a throbbing migraine or you are interested in a little lip flip, Dolman Dental can treat you.
